We heart parent volunteers

The existence of the PTO at Silver Oak depends on the willingness of student families like you to support its continuation... not only financially, but with your time and talents. Thank you for enabling the wonderful programs and events the PTO sponsors and coordinates to continue!

Volunteer Needs

We are currently in need of many program lead teams in order to offer the many activities and events that Silver Oak has traditionally had for our students, as well as continue to successfully fundraise and offer the many enrichment programs the PTO provides during the school day. Please help keep our parent coordinated programs alive for our students!


Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM)

Language Arts & Reading (LAR)

Birthday Book Club Team

Book Fair Team

Book Donation Drive Lead Team

Fine Arts

Lower Grade Play Lead Team

Need 1 or more volunteers to coordinate and oversee this extracurricular after school program with our play production partner, Starting Arts. Registration begins in December, and runs January through mid-April. Additional volunteers from cast families may be utilized as needed. Mentoring available from previous lead. Holiday Choir Lead

Need 1 volunteer to coordinate and oversee this extracurricular after school program with our staff choir instructor. Registration begins in September, snd runs through mid-December. Art Manager Co-Lead

Need 1 volunteer to join current Art Manager to coordinate and fulfill the art supply needs of our lower grade art program, as well as help plan and execute the Spring Art Show display. Community Events

Walk/Bike to School Week Team

Movie Night Lead

BINGO Lead Team

Bollywood Night Lead Team

Need 1 or more people to coordinate and execute this community event. Team would be responsible to planning entertainment, food, and decorations. Additional volunteers can be recruited as needed. Parents' Night Out Lead Team

Need 1 or more people to plan, recruit committee volunteers, and execute this fun night out for the Silver Oak parent community and school staff. Fun Fest Carnival Lead Team

Need 4 or more people to plan, recruit volunteers, and execute this end-of-year community event. Suggested team: 1-2 Lead Coordinators, 1-2 concessions leads, 1-2 sales leads, 1-2 game/crafts leads. Additional volunteers are recruited to staff the event. Mentoring available from previous lead team. Pledge Drive Lead Team

Need 4 or more people to plan, market, and execute the very important Annual PTO Fall Pledge Drive. Suggested Team: 1-2 Lead Coordinators, 1 additional Data Manager to assist our current DM, 1 additional Corporate Match Coordinator to assist our current CMC, 1-2 Rewards Coordinators. Fitness Run Lead Team

For-A-Day/Pastime Auction Lead Team

Need 1 or more people to communicate with the teaching staff to coordinate and market the online auction of our Staff-For-A-Day and Staff Pastime Auction. Communications

Event Marketing TeamNeed 2 or more people to communicate with program leads and assist where needed with marketing materials (banners, flyers, write website stories to submit to eNews Team) to promote their program or event. eNews Publishing Team

Need 1 or more people to be trained in the publishing practices of the school and STEAM sections of Silver Oak's website and assist the webmaster to monitor and manage the publishing schedule for the school year. Opportunities Available

Community Service

Silver Oak PTO has many events over the course of the year that are appropriate for Jr High and High School students to volunteer their time. PTO Program Chairs can sign off of hours worked provided the agreed upon volunteer job was completed and the necessary paperwork is provided for signature in a timely manner.

As opportunities arise, we will post them here, or you may contact the PTO Board to indicate your community service volunteer interests. We may be able to find a custom opportunity to fit your talents and service hour requirement needs!
