As in the past, our school will be participating in a holiday food drive. Students are asked to bring in non-perishable food to be donated to the Second Harvest Food Bank for distribution to families in need. The canned food drive will begin the week of December 2nd and continue through December 13th. You can help your children experience the joy of giving and learn the importance of stewardship by talking to them about service to others, by helping them select food to donate, and by encouraging your children to give generously.

November's Book: The Day You Begin by Jacqueline Woodson provides opportunities for conversations around tolerance and acceptance of others. It also makes us aware about the importance of creating a caring school climate where everyone feels they belong. The goal was to help the students embrace and nurture each individual for who they are and to practice inclusive behaviors to create a caring school climate. Click the above link to learn more.

Tom Matsumoto is implementing a wonderful program for our students called Saturday Academy! Saturday Academy provides enrichment opportunities for all students while allowing our students to make-up missed days of attendance. Missed days of school also result in lost revenue to our schools. Saturday Academy allows us to recover lost learning as well as lost funding! Please click the link above for more information.
