SEE MESSAGE FROM ASSISTANT SUPERINTENDENT DAN DEGUARA:
Good Afternoon Evergreen Families,
As shared in earlier communication, we are pleased to provide families a variety of instructional options to utilize during the COVID-19 school shutdown.
Continuous learning family resources can be accessed at: https://sites.google.com/eesd.org/march2020/home
Included with these materials is information from the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) about talking to your child about COVID-19. It is very important to remember that children look to adults for guidance on how to react to stressful events. Adults play an important role in reassuring children that health and school officials are working hard to ensure that people throughout the country stay healthy. The NASP provides us with some good information and guidelines for talking with our children.
These online resources are not teacher or school specific and support a range of subject areas, interests and ability. Completion is not required and materials should be considered supplemental. As such, they will not be graded or collected.
Each school site will have a limited number of select activities printed and packaged by grade level. These printed resources are designed for families without access to the internet and/or appropriate electronic devices. A limited number of packets will be available in school offices after 12:00 noon on Tuesday, March 17th. Again, these printed resources are reserved for families without access to internet options.
As a reminder . . . Prior to entering our offices or participating in our "grab and go" lunch program (more information to follow) we ask that you self assess your personal health. Individuals with any fever and/or respiratory infection symptoms should not come to school. Additionally, we ask that you appropriately practice social distancing.
Finally, I would like to take a moment to thank our District Technology and Site Coaches for their efforts to organize this rich bank of resources!
The Evergreen staff wishes you and your family the best during this unprecedented time.
Dan Deguara, Assistant Superintendent
